Which is better: ATT U-Verse or Cable?

I live in a very rural part of texas and att is barely laying out the fiber optic cable for uverse?

  • internet....... what is the difference between uverse and regular cable/dsl? is it more reliable or something? why would att start off with uverse high speed internet instead of regular high speed internet in a rural area? is uverse wired or wireless in signal transmission? uverse is kind of pricy and not the cheapest high speed internet, why would that be? what determines the cheapest broadband, location? can an internet expert please tell me............

  • Answer:

Uverse is bascially an Internet/TV service. You get it either as Fiber to the Neighborhood (to a refrigerator sized box someplace), which goes the rest of the way to your home over your copper pair as DSL, or Fiber To The Premesis, which the fiber goes right to your home, and converted directly to your home network. In either case, the TV service is delivered over the DSL or fiber internet using IPTV, which basically means only the selected channels are delivered to your home, and that the boxes by default are networked together (other providers are just beginning to network their boxes).
