Which eBook reader should I get?

Where can I get the cheapest new Kindle ebook reader?

  • Ebay? Craigslist?

  • Answer:

You want the cheapest Kindle? You Can’t Handle the Cheapest Kindle! Well, I can’t. But in case you are one of the idle ones that has plenty of time to invest in the possibility of saving a few bucks, here are the options I can offer… 1. Wait for the Kindle 3, and then shop for a used Kindle on ebay, etc. Of course this is not an option if you’re shopping for a Christmas present. At least a 2009 Christmas gift. 2. Steal one. Unlike Abbie Hoffman’s strategy for getting your hands on his book, I wouldn’t recommend the same. 3. Bid on a ‘like new’ Kindle 2 on ebay. Bid $1 in anticipation of getting that deal of a lifetime, and agonizing watch the bidding catch on fire as the holidays approach. 4. Give up on any hopes of getting a great deal at an auction during the holidays and go back to step 1. Or save your time and sanity and just buy the dang thing from Amazon.com. http://ebook-reader-hq.com

Actually, everyone get the product from Amazon, so it is difficult for ebay seller to sell it at a cheaper price. I've heard that a number of ebay sellers just get the refurbished version from Amazon, and sell it on eBay just like a new Kindle. So be aware of places that sell the Kindle, other than Amazon... I suggest you to get the refurbished version from Amazon at the bottom of the offer page. It is the cheapest price that you can get a Kindle right now: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00154JDAI?tag=moreinfo-po-20&camp=213381&creative=390973&linkCode=am1&creativeASIN=B00154JDAI&adid=1503564MVATJVVF85S76& I love my Kindle very much. I remember I read these reviews about the benefits of the Kindle when I decided to buy it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Freview%2FR2DUM7S4XW06QN%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ASIN%3DB00154JDAI%26nodeID%3D%26ref%255F%3Dcm%255Fcr%255Fpr%255Fcmt&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957 http://www.speedreaderxreview.com/is-kindle-2-worth-the-price Finally, in case you don't know, Amazon has just put a price slash on the Kindle 2, and it is now selling $100 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle, and it adds in international wireless access and native PDF support... So take the chance if you want it. Hope it helps :)

I own the Kindle 2, and it is easy for me to say I love it! I think I've read over 20 books so far. I love my Kindle because it has helped me improve a lot on my efficiency and utilize my time. Before I owned the Kindle, waiting time like when I'm waiting for friends or waiting for shuttle bus or some thing like that is simply wasted. Now I just need to bring the Kindle 2 along with me. Another thing I like the most is the text-to-speech function, which means I can "read" books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I like to use this function when I've myself busy on some boring things, say when I'm on the step machine or doing some housework... I like reading and at the beginning I missed a bit on the feeling of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink seems to work very well, it is really like reading books... Now I often read with the Kindle for several hours but I don't feel tired. Below is where you can purchase your own from amazon.com:

Amazon is the only place which sells "new" Kindle. It is the only source, and every people get from that source. You should suspect if it can be a 100% new Kindle, when someone sell the Kindle device at a cheaper price. Check the price at their official page here. If there is any change in price, the official page will be the first place to disclose it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015T963C?ie=UTF8&tag=more_info-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0015T963C Hope this helps.

The only place to purchase a new kindle is on Amazon. You can find gently used ones on ebay and probably craigslist as well. You can purchased refurbed kindles from Amazon when they're available for $219 that come with a warranty
