Does Magic Jack work with DirecTV or Dish Network?

Will Directv work with either a magic jack or ooma phone system.?

• I was considering getting a magic jack plus or ooma phone system, not sure if that will effect my Directv service.

  Sadly, Directv doesn't work well with any flavor of VoIP - whether Magic Jack, ooma, skype, vonage, etc In a word, latency is too great. When you talk, your computer's internet signal has to pass to a satellite 22,000 miles above the earth and back to Directv's dish, and it takes time. You could hold a conversation as if it were a radio conversation by saying 'Over' at when you finish speaking - which would be a bit of a pain. Even Magic Jack's FAQ at http://magicjack.com/faq/ recommends against it.
