Which Freeview box would/do you recommend?

Can anyone recommend a Freeview box?

  • I am considering buying a freeview box but cannot work out the difference in boxes for the price you pay. Why pay £80 when I can buy one for £30? Can you recommend a good box at a resonable price?

  • Answer:

Sony from argos at £39.99, brilliant, never loses the picture

I only wanted a cheap freeview box to tide me over until my Sky install. So I got a Matsui from Currys for £24.99. Didn't expect much but it was absolutely fine and it even had a slot for a Top Up TV card. Some good features and an easy to understand menu. Bargain IMHO

Don't buy a Bush one, my Nan had one and the mains adaptor melted.

Humax 9200T. It's a PVR with 160GB hard drive and three tuners (record on two, while you watch one). You can also upload images and MP3s to it. Price of around £190. Absolute snip! I've got one and love it to pieces. Best piece of kit I've bought in ages.
