How do I view pictures from a disk?

How can I view images on a dvd player?

• I have a DVW 7000 dvd/vcr combo. I remember that on an older dvd player, I was able to burn disks of pictures and then view them using the dvd player. For some reason my new one (the DVW 7000) will give me a disk error. Is this player capable of viewing pictures? Do you know of a format that I may need to change the pictures to? Or possibly a decent (and free) program to use to make a slide show? I'm on my way to grandmother's house (....stop singing) ... and she doesn't have a computer. I'd like to burn these pictures to disk so we can look through them using her dvd player. A slideshow would be great. THANKS!!!

  According to the specs, your combo player can only display DVD's -- no other format is included. It can play music CDs, including MP3, but can only display DVD. You're right -- most players allow JPG to be displayed. Your grandmother's player probably can handle JPGs. Some offer built-in slide shows, but you may just have to hit the Next button to see the slide show...
