Can I use the power cord for an apple tv to power my Dynex TV set?

The power cord from my apple tv (2nd gen) fits into the power port for my 32" Dynex tv. Does anyone know if these are compatible? I dont want to fry the internals of the tv.

Answer:
Yes it is safe, so long as the TV does not need a power brick.
