Which is better: DISH Network or DirectTV?

Can a DirectTV dish be hooked to the cables from a Dish Network dish?

  • I recently bought a house than has Dish Network dish already installed. The cables running from the dish are nicely installed and it looks like it took a pretty significant effort to do that. I have DirectTV in my current home (and a contract with DirectTV, not to mention Sunday Ticket) so I need to take that with me to the new home. My question is this: When the installer comes, will he simply be able to swap dishes? Or are the cables that run from a Dish Network dish different that those that run from a Direct TV dish?

  • Answer:

Your installer will use the existing cables. The only thing he needs to change is the dish, itself. The only changes he'll make to the cables is the possibility of re-routing them to the appropriates rooms, IF necessary.
