Cable tv? direct tv? dish network? anything else? which is the best or u recommend?

what about just doing without tv. I have and do not miss it. I get news on the internet.

If she wants to keep it simple and cheap - go with dish network. they're plans are very reasonable and they give a decent amount of channels - usually the real channels people watch. if you're mom want the option to order on demand movies or do any of the fancy stuff like dvr or caller id on tv, then definitely go with cable and try to bundle it with internet and her phone line. most cable companies offer really great bundles promos.

Good lord go with cable! Cable rarely if at all breaks down or loses a connection. With a dish connections are lost all the time just becuase of weather. Dish companies might also say they cost less but you get wat you pay for. A cable company might cost more but the quality of television is way better.

well i dont know if you have cox cable out there or not but you can get all the channels you mentioned plus more for like $50 a month...it may be different rates out there but it is the basic cable package...and you can always bundle with phone and internet and its a lot cheaper... dish has hidden charges and you have to actually buy the dish itself which is about 300 with cable you rent a cable box(usually get one if you want more than 70 channels) and it is only at most a $15 fee...dish is way more expensive at first... and then what do you do with it when you are done with it...PLUS dish makes you sign a contract...cable you usually dont have to
