How do i set an alarm clock?

Sorry I know this sounds dumb, but I started using my cellphone as an alarm clock back in high school and I just have a crap target "alarm clock" that I never use. There are not a million options, it just has time, and alarm switch and hour, and minutes and snooze. I set the regular time and then I pressed the alarm switch and set it to 10:25 am... the thing is on my old alarm it showed the real time but this one is showing the time that I set for my alarm. And the time is changing so right now it says its 10:27 even though I set it for 10:25.... so did I do it incorrectly or what the heck is going on. And if I switch the alarm off it's not like it goes back to real time? It still says 10 whatever thanks, sorry a dumb question but I stopped trusting alarm clocks a long time ago... just lost my phone and I need to wake up for work in the morning.

You set up the time correctly, but you might have put the AM/PM on incorrectly. So if your alarm was set for 10:25 but did not go off, then most likely you put it on PM instead of AM. Usually, there is a small dot on the side of the "screen" (or whatever you call it... the part where it shows the lit-up time and everything). If the dot is on, then set your alarm to 10:25 but 12 hours later so it is set up correctly. If the dot is off, do the same thing. Test it out. Best of luck to you! :)

Every alarm clock is different, but there is usually a switch between alarm set and current time. Isn't there an instruction manual? If there isn't, you should probably take it back and exchange.

Most of them operate the same basic way, the only variance is that some have fast/slow buttons, others hour/minute buttons. Anyhow, to set the time, you press and hold the time button, and press the hour/fast or minute/slow button to set the time it is. Watch the PM indicator, if it is not a 24 hour clock (in which 1PM shows as 13:00) The alarm sets the same way, but you press the alarm button, to set when you want the alarm to sound. To have the alarm sound, you set the alarm switch to on. Snooze stops the alarm for 9 minutes usually. Pressing the Alarm button turns off the alarm until the next time the alarm time rolls aroud. Turing the alarm switch to off as well.
