How to create a DVD interface?

Is it possible to create a photo slide show to play in a DVD, with a regular CD burner?

  • I want to create a photo CD to send to family that will play on the DVD player, but I don't have a DVD burner. Is it possible to create a slide show on CD-R that will play in a DVD player, or is a DVD burner (and accompanying blank DVD's) absolutely necessary to accomplish this?

    create the photo slide using windows movie maker which is avaible in the windows xp and add some music to it and convert it into a .dat file and write it using ur cd writer in video format and it will play in the dvd player

Some DVD players will read a CD-R. Not all, though, and I'm not sure they can read the video off it. For example, some DVD players will play music CDs. It just depends on the player.

You bet, I have used the program below to create VCD's, adn super VCD's. You do need Nero or Sonic, which actually does the burning for you. Most DVD players will play VCD's also. You also may not have to use a program like Muvee, depending on what you want to do.... Good luck!

Unfortunately, it takes a DVD burning drive (DVDRs) to make a DVD. You cannot write information to a DVD without a DVD writer, and you would need a blank DVD to write information onto. With a CD-R, you can record music and information, but it won't play in a DVD player. You can usually find DVDRs pretty cheap (mine was $60.00), and blank DVD discs can be bought in smaller packs of 5 or even single. Most DVDRs come with a disc that will have a program you can use to make a slideshow, and will encode the DVD (as it burns) to be DVD player ready. Hope that helped.

nope i tried to do this and it didnt' work out its just as easy to go by a dvd burner
