Where To Buy Cheap Ps3 Games In Mumbai?

Should I buy the PS3 just for the Blu-ray DVD player, not games?

  • I am thinking of making the jump into Blue ray but I was wondering if I should just buy the PS3 instead of a stand alone Blue ray player. The arguments that I have seen deal mainly with the firmware upgrades that you can get with the PS3 connected to the internet. I have no interest in playing games on the PS3 because I have the 360 and thouroughly enjoy it. So, please, no PS3 fanboys or 360 bashers. I would like a clear and well thought out answer that addresses all aspects/differences between the PS3 Blu ray and a stand alone one.

  • Answer:

Good question, I'm asked alot about this since I work in an electrical store. TECHNICALLY speaking, the stand alone blue ray player is better for playing films than the PS3, as the PS3's blue ray player was never specifically designed to play games. However, for the difference in price and value for money however, I'd plum for the PS3. Not only do you get a damn good blue ray player (even if it is not quite as good), but you also have the PS3 for a good price. You may never use it to play games, but you always do have the option of doing so if you ever see a game you like. So in terms of quality, the stand alone blue ray is better for just films. But not the better in regards to value for money. Its your call from there.

Simply consider what you think about the future of blu-ray technology before you make your decision. Will it be the next betamax?

Adam has a very -educated- answer. Yeah, i have a ps3, upscaling graphics. It's DEFINATLY not the best blu ray player, its much cheaper than most, but if ur not gonna use it for games, are you gonna use it for other media aswell? I suggest, that u get it. Warner Bros. is ONLY making bluray movies it announced. Its a 7/10 blu-ray player on a ps3(in my opinion) A decent Blu-ray Player for a decent prize, ur call. Hope it helps S.KHAN

My personal opinion is this..... I wouldn't because there aren't many movies on Blu-Ray and the ones that are available are much more expensive. It is easier to go HD as there are more movies available, which is what we did. Bought an HDTV, and an HD-DVD player (that converts regular DVD's as HD) and buy HD movies. Once you've gone HD you won't be able to watch anything else though. Just my two cents!
