Fax machines - I want to get a fax machine for my home office do I have to get a seperate fax number?

  • Is it possible to get a machine that will work on my current land line number i.e phone and fax on the same number? Also could someone please recommend a reliable fax machine for under 100 euros. I'm located in the Republic of Ireland in case that makes a difference to any solutions or suggestions. Many thanks in advance!

    ...i'd argue that 95% of home faxs are on the same number, just plug it in the same line as your phone, you DO NOT need a seperate number for faxs. People generally only have seperate fax numbers to not tie up the phone line when a faxes are consistantly send/recieved.

Please try the Joyfax Server, you can send & receive faxes without pinting out. Saving your paper & ink... just search Joyfax Server in yahoo..

I agree with the others just plug it in. My machine is a 'Brother' I have had it for about six years and it has been no trouble at all. I have no way of knowing what the cost to you would be but if it is a little extra it is well worth the investment. One word of warning, the replacment rolls are quite expensive so be careful who gets your fax number otherwise you will get a load of worthless adds that use up the roll on the print out function which has to be replaced.

yes you can run a fax machine off the same landline number as your phone. simply plug it in and use. If a fax call comes in you simply press the start button on the fax machine and the fax should come through no problem

Epson SC600FW is a Wifi colour printer Scanner and Fax machine. Has been on offer at 100 pounds, but may be a better buy, than a simple fax machine.

Are you sure you need a fax? Most small businesses don't need them anymore as email has taken over. I've not needed to send/receive a fax for 3 years now.
