What is EQ?

What are some good eq settings on an eq pedal to get a sound similar to slash's?

• i know that the sound is all in my hands, but i just want some eq settings as a little head start. i have a danelectro fish n chips 7 band eq. and please, no sarcasm

  You want to sound like slash? Okay I am sorry those danelectro pedals aren't worth the plastic they are built into, and an equalizer is not the fix all solution to manipulate sound by a VERY long shot. Next which era of slash are you going for the GnR days or the Velvet revolver days cuz they aren't completely the same. Long story short slash is a lead so you want to crank up your highs and turn down your lows and mids, play on your bridge pickup using a thicker harder pick, you will need some sort of drive pedal a good overdrive pedal coupled with a stadium reverb should make a pretty good crisp live sound.
