How to transfer video from PC to mobile?

How to transfer and play a video from my PC to my PS3?

  • I'm trying to get a video from my computer to my PS3 via an 8GB Sandisk USB stick. I've downloaded the video to my hard drive and it plays fine with windows media player and WMP classic. I've tried using PS3 Video 9 to convert it to and MP4 file, then moved it to the USB stick, but my PS3 says there are no files. I'm currently trying to use Wondershare Video Converter, but it's taking so long, so I downloaded and am using Plato Video to PSP to convert the .avi file. So far, I've tried converting it to a .flv, .mp4, and now I'm about to try .mpg (MPEG-2). Is there something I'm not doing right? Everytime I think I have it converted, I try it on my playstation and it says there's no files. It says the USB device is connected, but there are just no files on it. Is it because the automatic program for them to run on my PC is Windows Media? Is there some other kind of program I need to install on my PS3, or something I'm not doing right? Please help, I'm trying to surprise my boyfriend with this.
