What are Universal Remotes used for, cause I have a remote that my step father bought I belive at Target, and the Brand is called:One For All, and I just wanted to know if this is a Universal Remote, and what a Univ. Rem. Is!!??!? (by the way, i dont have the instructions!, sorry!) Thanks!

    baiscly unversal remotes are ALL in oneremotes, theyallow you to use 1 remote in placeo f say you TV, DVD, Cable TV remote to have just 1 remote to use noth 3 or 4 they are also used to replace lost or broken remotes most people use the to have all 3 or 4 otherthereremotes in 1 unit rather then 3 or 4 different remotes

every audio visual device has a manufacturer code. If you go on to the one for all website that will help. They are good instead of having loads of remotes you just have one. If you want the tv on you press tv first and then away you go. DVD player press dvd first and then away you go. You can programme a macro button so as you press it, it switches everything on and off together.
