How can I have system certificate android?

Android/System Update?

  • I bought the Droid Bionic back in September, and for the longest time I wondered how to update OS, because it was my first android phone. I think I've got that figured out now, but what I don't understand is that under About Phone, it says my Android version is 2.3.4. Does that mean I don't even have Gingerbread? I know Ice Cream Sammich is 4.0. It doesn't really make sense to me. Also, I just had a system update done on my phone, I believe it was 5.9. What's the difference between system and android? Thanks :)

  • Answer:

the problem with droid is that there are lots of phones with lots of different droid versions, with small updates. chances are you arent going to be able to upgrade from 2.3.4 anytime soon, even though 4.0 is out system updates are just updates on the real internal stuff on your phone, and isnt something to be worried about. android versions (2.3.4, 3.0, 4.0, etc.) are the stuff you actually see on your phone. New features, different settings, and different looks are what ANDROID updates are about. Again, system updates are just the internal stuff Hope this clears things up!
