Which is really better, Cable or Direct TV?
-
You always see the commercials on TV. for cable and for satellite, now this question is for those people that have had cable and satellite. Which one would you say is better on price, quality, service loss (when you lose some channels or they go pixely), along with local channels, and HD service. I want to change my service, but I want to get the best bang for my buck. Which one would you say is the best between the two. Keep in mind that I also have DSL though our cable company so I would like to find out if they provide that also.

Answer:
I have had both Cable and Direct TV. If I had to choose one, it would be Direct TV. here is what I think of each: Direct TV = has a lot of different channels and packages that you can add. You also usually can "record" TV shows and/or movies without any tapes or anything. The menu is cool, and pretty much has its own TV Guide, and the remote is very easy to use. The only bad thing that I ran into, was that during storms, it would occasionally go out and you would be without TV for a little while. But it always came back within a few hours. For Direct TV, you also must get a box, which is kind of big, but it's not too bad. You just place it on top of the TV, or below it. Cable = is pretty basic. It's what I have now because I have moved and where I am living gets this cable for free. I miss being able to see what it is I am watching and easy navigation. But it's still good. Also, there are often "packages" that companies, like Comcast, offer where cable, phone and DSL is included. And they are usually pretty good. I would go for Direct TV hands down, and when I move again, i will most likely be getting it again, which is soon and I am excited. I hope I helped!

Directv. More variety, more hd channels by far. If you're looking to save money than you should go with Dish Network. If you want HD channels and lots of options for sports, go with directv. I think cable is around the same price nowadays but has terrible service. You have Cable Internet right now not DSL. DSL is provided by phone companies and is cheaper than Cable high speed Internet but its generally slower. Directv does bundling with Qwest, Verizon, AT&T etc. You might have to get a landline phone in your area to get DSL but some companies don't require it. Directv and Dish Network don't directly offer an internet connection. Local channels are free with Directv if they provide them in your area which they most likely do. If they don't it's because of the FCC and their stupid laws. as for reception it depends on the weather where you live. I get better reception with directv than I did with cable. If you live in a volatile climate it might be different though.
