Why did my dvd player screen turned all pink?

Please help in connecting my Portable DVD Player to my TV?

  • I'm tech savvy so I know what I'm doing usually when it comes to electronics. I also checked this site to make sure I was doing it right (http://www.ehow.com/how_2214499_hook-up-portable-dvd-player.html). I have a Panasonic portable DVD player model # DVD-LS855. On it is an AV port, in which I plugged in a 3.5 audio/video cable. The other end of the cable splits into 3 (red, white, yellow) cables. I plugged those into the TV (corresponding red, white and yellow ports) labelled Video 2 Input. Then I turned on the TV and set it to TV Video Input 2. I hear sound but am not seeing any video! I have tried the same thing on TWO different televisions with 3 different 3.5 AV cables! I called Panasonic technical support and after half an hour on the phone with this guy, he could not figure out the problem and why I'm not seeing the video on my screen. Anyone have this problem and could offer some help?

  • Answer:

1st, try connecting another source to that Video 2 input on the TV (maybe a cable box or similar). This will determine if the TV is working properly. If it is, try changing around the red, yellow, and white wires. Plug the red wire into the yellow jack, etc... Different DVD players are sometimes wired differently inside. If that doesn't work, check the settings on the DVD player itself. Look through the menu screens for anything that might be related to the 'A/V Output' or composite output. Maybe it is disabled by default and needs to be turned on.

Sorry. It sure sounds like you're doing everything right. Double check that the jacks on the TV that you're plugging into are on the same circuit (AV1, AV2, etc.) Can you try/ do you have s-video options? Unless there's a mismatch on the TV's input circuits, the most obvious conclusion is that your video output is bad. I hope I'm wrong.
