Why is it better to have more than 1 satellite?

Which is better cable or satellite dish? And Why?

  • I am haveing a real hard time with my cable company! Our family have been cable customers for 25 years! In the last month there have been 6 indoor visits by their tech's. And about 5 outdoor tech's One even came on the 4Th of July with no appt. Ruined my whole day! They replaced wires from the post to the house and the top of the house to the outlet! I could go on and on..... But i wont! I have 1 digital box and one regular outlet! The problem is only with the digital box.I want to know if i should stick it out! Letting them believe they can fix it (by the way the problem is freezing pic and checkered images) Or should i go with a dish! Any imfo for me! Thank You!

    dish or any other satilite provider is better because 1. you can check the guide and see what shows are coming on easily.... 2. its crystal clear quality 3. you can record stuff and rewind things if you get a DVR with it... The only downside is that if it rains really hard or a blizzard comes the satillite might lose signal..

satellite is WAY better than cable. let me list them... more channels: satellite providers say 250, but there are about 500 channels an electronic tv guide so you don't have to look online, in a newspaper, or on stupid TV Guide channel. more HD Channels. good if you have a wide screen tv all digital programming: no static EVER DVR (TiVo): self explanatory its just so much better. Cable companies complain all the time that satellite tv goes out if it is even a little cloudy. but the truth is that it would have to be a white out or raining so hard you can't drive until the picture goes out. another little fact about cable is that if lots of people are on the internet through cable your internet will be slow. cable companies say if you have DSL, if you are far away from a phone company building, it is slow. well, you can only get cable in cities, where there are tons of phone buildings. so you will get a faster connection anyway. cable is a dream of the 80's. satellite is way better

MOST dish owners are former cable users! You will get MANY more channels and even more to buy! Give the cable company one more chance, they fix it or take it with them! Noone of this I will have to send someone else to fix it stuff! They either send the right people, even if it is 10 of them, all at the same time, or you go dish! They will come out and fix it.

i would choose cable for more reliable singals.. even when the power is out.. and when it storms.. but they cost so much and have to be "up-to-date" so people come out and replace lots of things... satalite is very good and reliable most of the time.. but dies when no power and only some times cuts out when it storms.. or snows bad and covers the dish... i have satalite and i love it... but if you would like to stay with cable and make sure it doesn't cut out when it storms or snows.. okay.. satalite now-a-days has 2 outlets per satalite... and boxes from the satalite can output 2 diff signals to 2 diff tvs.. so 1 satalite = 4 tv's. any more tv's and you will need another dish. cable only needs a splitter....

Settalite is way better, go for DirectTV if you dont mind spending some more bucks, you will get a lot better quality and many more channels.
