Buying Garmin GPS question?
-
I was thinking about getting a Garmin StreetPilot 2610 because I know they are a good system and they are now fairly cheap on amazon. However, I've never owned a GPS unit before and I'm wondering if thats what I should buy opposed to another GPS with possibly pre-loaded maps, instead of buying DVDs for 99$ that I have to load onto the StreetPilot thanks

Answer:
Hello, The StreetPilot 2610 was a great unit in it's time. The reason they are on sale is because they are discontinued and map updates are not available for them after 2008. There are many other GPS units out there that include lifetime map updates and are relatively inexpensive compared to what they sold for a few years ago. Things to consider when buying one are: using it in a car, motorcycle, or hiking and if you need bluetooth for hands free calling.
