How do I record to a VHS from my DVD player?

Can a USB recorder within my DVD player allow me to record my VHS?

  • I recently purchased a Sony DVD player with an intergrated USB recorder - I haven't had a chance to explore all of its features properly yet, but do you think it the USB recorder will record a playing VHS? (the DVD player is linked up to the tv with comp wires and the VHS player is linked up via scart). Here's the model I bought: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005LG34A6/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details Any help would be appreciated thanks.

  • Answer:

Sorry you can't copy your VHS to a USB stick with this machine. It will only allow copying from a DVD. The player doesn't have any way to input external signals so you can't connect the VHS directly to it, or record via the telly. If you have a valuable collection of VHS tapes then it's worth while spending a lot more money and buying a DVD recorder. Make sure it's got a SCART input, Component video is one-way only and VHS machines don't use it. Look at LG - DRT389H Digital TV DVD Recorder with USB 2.0 Interface £112.99 from Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-DRT389H-Digital-Recorder-Interface/dp/B0018BTP7O/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1329729103&sr=1-1
