You are correct. Any television that is a big tube or bulky on the back is a analog television and requires the purchase of a digital converter box. You will need a digital converter box for about $59.99 that plugs into your older television by composite cables (yellow, red and white) plugs. There won't be any HDMI connections. Depending on where you live, some televisions stations will have a weak signal coming to your house and so the most important thing is to get a good antenna.
