What is the difference between electrostatic generator and power supply?

How to couple an A.C. generator to a power inverter, jitter free?

  • When an A.C. mains power generator(HONDA-500watts) is connected as an i/p source to a Power inverter for domestic lighting or to a UPS,there is a jitter in the line & line voltage drops. The ups resets. In inverters battery charging section (SCR based charger) makes noise. In case of long power cuts i want my genset to charge the batteries via the inverter so that full power of genset is utilised & after a long run the genset could be stopped & inverter may take over.Technically there may be some phase difference or improper waveshape in the generator out put voltage. Please suggest some proper technical methods to solve the problem.

  • Answer:

The Honda generators I've looked at have had a good quality AC output. It sounds like you are connecting the generator to the inverter wrong. To use the generator you should just plug the inverter into it instead of the wall outlet. If you are connecting the output of the generator to the output of the inverter you will probably have problems.
