If i take a DVD player, bought in UK, to Kenya, will it work on a TV bought in Kenya for use in Kenya?

yes, it`ll work, but bear in mind different region codes for dvd films so you may as well get a multi-region player or one that you can hack.

almostr certainly first off check the connection type if you are using an RF conenction (coaxial cable) then you may have a problem, check the settigns ont he DVD player to see if it can send a compatible signal (Im guessign that Kenya will use a PAL tv system. if you use SCART or DVI I think you have less of a problem. Check the settings of the TV.... the really cheap DVD players may not have the electronics to set things like frequency, TV signal type & region One probelm youmay have is if your DVD is locked to a particaular region. THe DVD manufactureres and DVD material/program makers have divided the world into Zones/Reguions. Basically it so US based Media companies can scam lots of cash from non US/North AMerican regions. If you have used you DVD player int he UK then it may have set to Europe, meaning that you may not be able to paly African DVD's. If its multi region then you shouldn't have a problem

Yes it will work as both standards are PAL, both work on the same voltage and frequency (ie 230v 50hZ) but I would suggest you get yourself a multi region player since Kenya is in DVD region 5 and the UK is in Region 2. Otherwise you can smile all the way to Kenya!
