What speakers to buy?

Advice on what speakers and amp to buy. Need some advice please.?

• My room is about 10 ft by 10 ft quite square. The speakers will be connected to an Xbox 360 and a computer. On my list of what maybe too get is this: http://www.krksys.com/krk-studio-monitor-speakers/rokit/rokit-6.html this is good as i wouldn't need to buy an amp as its built in. But i was a bit confused on how to adjust the volume as the speakers are both separate. I'm not up for adjusting each speakers volume level every 5 minutes. If i was to buy these for general music listening, how would i go about setting them up? For 320-£350. What amp and speakers could i buy (second hand also) that would match the KRK's sound quality? I'm a noob and would really appreciate any help and advice. Once you help me i will use the knowledge to help others like me in need. Thank you.

  I'd get a decent surround amp (or A/V receiver) with digital inputs and link it to the s/pdif outputs of the xbox and PC. That would give you seriously good audio and a subwoofer, excellent for both games and music! Also single point control and decent cinema sound for the TV (which presumably you have for the xbox). I use a secondhand Sony STR-DA2400ES (7 x 100W RMS output) with a selection of old hifi speakers and a Yamaha servo subwoofer. (One example in the first link). You can also get quite decent new system in the £300 range, see the other links for a couple of examples.
