Where to get a DS repaired?

Can I still get my original DS repaired?

• I have my original DS still, not the DS Lite, and it seems to have trouble reading game cards. I have researched the matter, and the conclusion that I have come up with is that I either A. need to get it repaired, or B. need to get a Lite as a replacement. Either way, I'll likely have to wait a couple weeks to get a functioning DS. However, I know that the original DS is no longer in production, so I am uncertain if I can get it repaired. Can I?

  If you're looking for an official Nintendo repair, I'm not sure if they still offer the service. However, if the card isn't reading how it should be then the problem is really not that hard to fix. If you have any experience repairing electronics, you will find that it is actually easy to repair a DS. I know that websites such as eBay used to offer replacement parts for the DS, as I have gotten for my own DS. If you can find it, the part you need is the DS mainboard or motherboard. I'm looking right now and i can't find one... I think maybe they don't offer them anymore :( So, I would recommend just buying the new DS lite. It's an excuse to drop your old DS and move on to the brighter screen. As for your old DS, it will still fetch a high price on eBay also because (as I just explained) it is definitely fixable, and people are willing to do it.
