Why won't my touch lamp work?- Simple cheap fix?
-
I resently got this touch lamp and a bulb burnt out while it was turned on. Now the lamp won't turn off or change brightness. Why is it like this and is there a simple and cheap fix...?
-
Answer:
When the bulb went out while it was on it created a voltage spike that damaged the touch sensitive electronics inside of the lamp. It is a simple module that can be replaced. http://www.amazon.com/Thomas-Betts-AR135D-Touch-Lamp/dp/B000BQWVE6

The triac in the touch controller has shorted. Simple easy fix is to get one of those inline cord switches, install it per instructions, then use that to turn it on and off.
