I have a dvd\vcr combo and it doesnt read the disc. Does anyone know how to get a dvd player to read the disc

Try other DVDs in the player to see if it's working at all. If it's just one disk giving you trouble check to see if there's dirt or terrible scratches on it. The problem may be as simple as wiping the disk off. If it still won't play, try playing it in another player. If it won't play there, it's some issue with the disk. Might even be a format that your player doesn't support-there are tons of formats around right now-it's insane. I purchased a DVD player a few years back that supports almost any format except for some of the newer/high-audio formats that have become popular in the past year or so. It's been a awesome-and they don't cost much at all! Good luck.
