What happens if you put a CD into a DVD player?

  • I just got the Alvin and The Chipmunks plug n' sing karaoke microphone and i want to know what happens if you put a CD into a DVD player because on the box it said to plug in the microphone and insert any cd or karaoke dvd into your dvd player. So im guessing a cd would work as well?!? Please Help!

    Yes, this should work fine, if not it will not hurt your machine at all it will just not play, if it does not work just play the cd on a cd player and use the mic on the karaoke by itself...have fun :)

Read this carefully and make certain you pass the info around: All DVD players play audio CDs. It's required by the licensing agreements that allow companies to make DVD players. As far as I know, the same applies to Blu-Ray players.

I don't know about karaoke, but a DVD player will play your CDs, only as there are no pictures on CDs, it will only play the sound through the TV speakers.

Nearly all DVD players will play a CD. I think I've only encountered one OLD one from like 1996 that wouldn't play a CD I made.
