My Headphones always break down. Invariably one ear piece will fail. Does anyone know why? How to fix broken
-
Sorry, question got cut off, How can I fix the headphones. I am careful with them, so I don't think their "broken", maybe loose wire. Is it possible to splice & recconnect and make a kind of frankenstein set of headphones. I think It's simple, just need instructions. I'm referring to the in the ear, or ear bud type headphones by the way. Thanks, Luis

Answer:
you can always fix a brocken wire, the problem is; it maybe to thin for you to cut and splice.... now, what i can suggest is purchase earphones with high quality....branded ones. i used to have one which lasted for 3 years... of course im very carefull using it. now, if your really into doing your thing to a earphone, follow these steps: 1. find out what is the left and the right audio by untoggling the wires. 2. find the ground wire which is the is always a partner of a left or right audio wire. 3. now do the same on the end of the wire you wish to connect. 4. once both ends are organized, separated from each others. 5. you can now connect both left and right audio wire and be sure to tape each connection for it not to short the other wires. 6. its better to practice this technic on brocken headphones, you may need a connectivity/multi tester and a longnoss with a cutter to do this. some electrical tape will also do.

Are they the headphones that come with your iPod? If so, don't bother, go out and buy a good pair ($50) of sony in the ear headphones. I have blown out (thats when you turn the volume up to loud and they break) 3 pairs of iPod headphones (No, i didn't buy each pair, they came with my various iPods >.<), they are really cheaply made and cannot handle what the iPod can output. The sony headphones can handle almost twice as much as what the iPod can put out, and are sound insulating, meaning they naturally block out almost all of the sound so your music is amazingly clear and clean.

you could buy a more expensive set of headphones and not listen to music so loud and also just be very carful with them they do break easily, i had the same problem. try the sony ones that wrap around your ear.
