Do all DVDs play in HD?

Do you have to have an HD TV to play HD dvds?

  • If I purchased an HD dvd player but I don't have an HD tv, will I still get a good quality picture from these videos? What about blu-ray dvds? Do you need a special tv to view those or will they look good on any tv?

  • Answer:

You would need a HD capable TV in order to get the best quality picture with both formats of Hi-Def DVD players. Most will play on a regular TV, but the quality will lack the quality that you desire.

to get the best quality, yes, you'll need an hdtv. otherwise it will just look like a normal dvd on your normal tv. you should invest in onan hdtv before the hd dvd player anyway (especially until the hd dvd vs. blu-ray thing gets sorted out).

You can watch them, but the picture quality will be very similar to a standard DVD. But it's still good to have in case you ever get an HDTV.

THE HD DVD PLAYER CAN PLAY NORMAL DVD'S. BUT TO GET THE HI DEF PICTURE, YOU'LL NEED AN HD TV. BLUE RAY PLAYERS ONLY WORK ON HD TV'S WITH 1080P. BLUE RAY IS A RIP OFF. STICK WITH NORMAL HD PLAYERS.
