How do I record my own song on a laptop?

How to transfer audio from DVD to my laptop?

  • There is a song I want called "Hallelujah" by Joseph Arthur (it's a Leonard Cohen cover). It's not on for sale and I can't find it available for download anywhere! But it is played at the end of a movie I watched. Unfortunately there is no soundtrack for the movie that can be purchased. I have lots of audio recording gear, so I could easily take an RCA cable and go L&R out of my DVD player into my laptop and record it using Bias Peak. But I have a DVD player in my laptop, so is there any easier way I could just transfer the audio from the end of the movie to my laptop? Like without hooking up the DVD player to the audio interface on my laptop?

  • Answer:

It's not the hardware, it's the software you need. Try purchasing Movavi Video Suite. It has a feature "Extract your favorite audio tracks and images from videos and DVDs" Read this web page: http://www.dvd-video-converters.com/dvdvideoguide/movavi-rip-dvd-to-mp3-video-to-mp3-extract-a-song-from-dvd-video.html HTH
