  • Answer:

You can't record TV programmes onto CDs, because CD is an audio-only format and cannot show pictures. You need to record programmes onto DVDs. You will need a DVD recorder to record them and a DVD player to watch them.

CDs have to low a capacty for good TV recording. What you want, these days, is a DVD recorder, which recorder to blank DVD writable or re-writable discs. If your source is antenna, you need a DVD recorder which includes a digital/analog tuner. If you have a cable or satellite box, you can get by with a DVD recorder which has no tuner. In either case, you will need a DVD player. Another option is to record TV with your computer, using a tuner card to record antenna, or from a cable or satellite box. You can write to DVDs, or convert to a format to put on a portable media player, which has an HDD or flash memory.
