Why does my TV turn on and off when I turn my BluRay player on and off?
-
When I turn on my BluRay player, the TV automatically turns on. The weird thing is it automatically turns off when I turn off the BluRay player too. I don't think it has anything to do with a brand connection because the BluRay player is a Sony and the TV is a Samsung. If you have any sort of explanation to this please share it.

Answer:
You must be using HDMI and both units must support HDMI CEC. HDMI CEC (Consumer electronics control) is defined to support the functionality you describe. Samsung calls it AnyNet+ or something like that, but it is HDMI-CEC. On your TV, you can disable it, but it is considered a feature.
