How do you connect a Hauppauge HD PVR through a home theater system?
-
I recently acquired a Hauppauge HD PVR to record my Playstation 3 gaming. I read the instructions and I am able to record gameplay video just fine. The problem is I also have a home theater/surround sound system. I am unable to use both at the same time, as I have to run the component cables from my PS3 to my Hauppauge and the from my Hauppauge to my TV and Laptop. Is there a way I can run the signal through my home theater system so I can still hear my home theater system and still be able to record audio with my Hauppauge?

Answer:
Sure, use the digital/optical audio from the PS3 through the HDPVR, to the surround.
