I need help with recording a Dazzle.

Dazzle DVC 100 w/ HDTV PLEASE HELP!?

  • I currently have a Dazzle DVC 100 and a Sony Bravia 52" LCD HDTV. Now, I really want to know if there's a way to play in HD while recording [in HD]. Do I need splitters? What's the process? Please help. As of now, I record fine, but my quality isn't the best. This is because I use a method to record without splitters, and it's where you plug the hd cords of your Xbox 360 into the HDTV, while the other three standard ones into the Dazzle. But, I need to play in HD. HELP! Thanks.

  • Answer:

HD recording on the Dazzle not possible. only SD video goes on single RCA connector (the other 2 are audio). the only analog to digital IC chip set is for SD and conversion to DV (avi). A big problem with recording HD is it has to be compressed. Home computers just can handle the 2 gbps data rate of uncompressed HD and have clock cycles left over to do the compression. Your Dazzle is working at 0.024 gbps and your computer is screaming to keep up.
