What's the best camera/video recorder for me?

Whats wrong with my DVD recorder?

  • i recently bought a DVD recorder and recorded a show from my TV..the recorder burned it on to my DVD-R. But i cant watch the burned disc on any other DVD player except for my recorder. whats up with that? please help...

    On mine (Emerson), I have to record in 'video' mode, not VR. Also, the disk must be 'finalized' before viewing on other machines. However, this does not make the dvd readable on all other players. My disks only play on one of my other two machines.

You need a DVD+R disk, A DVD-R is for recording CD's not movies.

Theres two different kinds of DVDs, DVD-R and DVD+R, your discs and players have to match to work.

i have the same problem.at first i thought it was becuase i recorded it in EP (the 8 hour option) but i also tried on SP (the 2 hour option) and still doesnt work.

You have to go into the functions and "close disk" then it should play.

are u sure its dvd -r isn it -rw if it its so little dvd players will be available to play it make sure its -r or try recording =r i heard thats the best format even when i think maybe u should wait the new kind of dvd are coming blue ray by sony playsataition 3 and hd dvd by mitsubish non of then are compactible whit each ohter

burning dvds is a tricky business. OFten, dvd-r's need to be burned in a special format to be read by dvd players. also, different dvd players play different formats. I've been through loads of dvd-r's trying to get them to work on my dvd player, and it doesn't always work
