Why is my xbox360 blinking red on the power on button?

My XBOX360 DVD Drive is dead! Can I put one from another XBOX360 into mine?

  • There's no reaction from the laser or any motors when I turn the XBOX360 on, and when i push the eject button, nothing happens! the xbox says that it's opening the tray, but nothing happens. I've tested the power cord going into the dvd drive and it's supplying the drive with power, but it seems to not be getting any power from it! Can I throw a working dvd drive from an xbox360 with the 3RLoD into my xbox360 and get it going again? My XBOX360's warranty has well and truly been voided!

    I don;t see why it would'nt work. Too bad you voided your warranty or you could probably shipped it off and had it fixed for free.

if i we're you i would pawn it and buy a new core system it would be cheaper then fixing it...

you cant simply do that! you have to patch the key of the old dvd drive to the new working dvd drive...... BTW its the chip inside the dvd drive that got screwed..........
