How do I hook up my tv to DVD to direct tv?

Does anyone know how to hook up a memorex dvd/cd player to a tv that has a ps2 and vcr hooked up to it?

  • I'm trying to hook up this dvd player and i'm getting so frustrated because I can't get it to work. and I don't have a manual for the dvd player. my tv is a sanyo picture in picture. that i have a ps2 and a sanyo vcr already connected to. on the back of the dvd player are places for cords. component video out Pr Pa Y. which i also have open on the back of my tv. i've already used the Pr Pa Y and hooked the dvd player to the tv, didn't workl. also on dvd player is a spot for a coaxial and audio L R and a video out. any suggestions??

Ok here is the thing; This depends upon how many AV inputs u have on your TV system. According to my assumptions you are hooking up the DVD player to one of the already taken AV in ports. Here's what you can do, 1.connect your cable to the 'coaxial in' of your VCR 2.take the 'co-axial out' of VCR and connect it to the TV 'coaxial in' (where the cable is now hooked up) 3.then hook up the DVD and PS2 to the 'Video 1' and 'Video 2' inputs using the respective cables u are already using. And I believe this will solve the conflict. Qns? [email protected]

Well, it depends on if you want to go for simplicity or picture quality. For simplicity, just hook the DVD player up to the VCR using the yellow video, and red and white audio cables, turn them both on, and change the VCR to the right channel (something like input 1 or 2) and it should work. Or, you could try the digital as it seems you are already trying. I have to warn you, I have never actually tried it myself so I am speculating. If you have hooked up the digital cords right, you should just have to turn on the DVD player and change the TV to the right channel. It (if it is like my TV) will have a channel named something like Pr Pa Y, and it should work. I really hope this helps!

You can get a switcher that you can attach your Dvd and VCR to. First you attach the vcr and dvd player to it then attach the output to the tv.
