How much it'll cost to rent apartment in Odessa for 1 month?

First month rent and security deposit for apartment!?

  • I just moved to Hawaii. My apartment im looking at cost $1700 a month. I only got about $2000 on me atm. The company that owns the apartment complex is having a showing in a few days. Do I just front them $1700 if I wanted the place? Or will they ask for security deposit and first months rent?

  • Answer:

They will ask for a deposit also which is usually equal to one months rent.

Depends on the place, plan on paying at least one month's rent as a security deposit. Others want first, last and a deposit though.

They will need an application and will run a credit check. The standard is usually one month's rent as a security deposit plus the first month's rent. Some companies will offer deals such as several months rent free or no security deposit or a very modest deposit-perhaps $200 or so. If this becomes an issue-and other units are available in the area-I would shop around. If you check the net or community billboards you may find a condo for lease by a private owner and they may offer a much better deal for less money. Many people today are real-estate rich and cash-poor, and this factor renders the corporate rental market less attractive than in years past.

Most likely they will want the first months rent and a security deposit equal to a months rent. Sometimes you have to have the last months rent as well.

If I was the manager I would ask you for at least $5000, maybe 6000. First month + Last month + Damage deposit.
