How much is usually paid for heat, not including the rent?

I had no heat for 30 days this winter can i ask for reimbursement for rent paid for that time?

  • Heat was off from Dec.18th until Jan.17th. Furnace needed to be replaced. Landlord wanted to wait till spring. We used electric heaTERS TO KEEP WARM . fINALLY CALLED TOWN ICODES OFFICER jAN. 16TH .hE CALLED LANDLORD AND NEXT DAY A NEW FURNACE WAS INSTALLED. cAN I ASK FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR 30 DAYS RENT DUE TO NO HEAT

Of course not. You DID live there, did you not ? So you expect free rents because you had an issue with the heat ? Sorry, but that is not the way it works.

No; you should have called the moment your heat when out. Then you would have been excused from paying rent until the proper fix was made. As it stands, you are not entitled to any refund or reduction in rent. You lived in the unit, you didn't call until a month after the fact, and your landlord did make the repair immediately after you took the proper steps. Nothing you can do after the fact.

You can try. did the landlord provide the electric heaters or did you purchase them yourself? If the landlord provided them, and the cost to operate them wasn't more than you would normally pay, you may have a hard time getting a reimbursement.
