What is the law on 9/10th possession?

UK Law help) My sister has received an order of possession for her flat due to being in rent arrears?

  • The order of possession is for the 4th of Feb 2012 and it came in the post today. She never received a letter to go to court which according to the Order of Possession was in Jan 2012. What can she do to keep her flat? Thank you

  • Answer:

    Nothing. she is not entitled to live for free in the flat. She should have opened the mail.

Nothing she can do now. Surely your sister was previously warned of the possibility of court action. If she cannot pay the arrears, there is no way she can keep her flat.

Phone the rent office and let them know when you will be paying the bill and explain the problems you had(or your sister), she wont get evicted if she pays the pill or arranges to pay it. i live in Scotland and if our rent is more than a week late we get an eviction notice - I have had 3 in the past few years, Good luck

Unfortunatley there is nothing but why dont u let her stay in ur house for a while.
