Can a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson become a Loan Officer in Maryland,Virginia and DC?

I am a realtor in MD,VA and plan to get my brokers license soon. Can I originate my buyers ( real estate client) loan? I see some states like California allow that. I also looked at SAFE guidelines but I am not sure if it is allowed in MD,VA and DC. Please advise. Thank you guys
