Whats your monthly electric bill for an individual?

Whats your utilities bill like?

• I guess this is more of a rant and a viewpoint question of how everyone's individual utilities company charges cause I think mine is total BS! 1st off its municipal utilities, I don't know if a private company would be any better but I don't have a choice cause that's all there is. The electricity use is the highest part of the bill. They give us a monthly allocation of 1000 KWH for a fixed rate. Regardless if we use the full amount or less still have to pay for the 1000. Then you get overage charges for everything over 1000 KWH. I think that's total BS because, my girlfriend and I have never stayed under that amount its always over. I don't get it cause we both work and not here very much of a day we also try to be green and conservative so we don't use that much electricity.... why can't they just charge a flat rate by the KWH regardless of how much you use for the month?! Does it work the same with a private utility company? If I had an extra 30 grand or so I'd go solar all the way and tell the utilities company to kiss my hairy a$$.
