Even though I paid my entire electric bill, the electric company has no record. Currency exchange keep my $?
-
I lived somewhere, paid my electric thru currency exchanges. Supposivly, the electric company claims I almost never paid any of that bill, but it was paid in full. I have a limited budgit, rent is due soon, the phone, and only can afford maybe $35 a month for the electric. I can't pay $78 to keep electricity on where I live now, because they claim where I paid all my bills living at before, they have no record of it. Did the currency exchange take my money and not pay my electric? I know I paid all of it and allways a little extra. From, in...the...dark. By the way, I have electric heat where I live now. Isn't it a law that they can not disconnect my electric (Because it is my heat!) in the winter?

Answer:
if you paid the electric thru currency exchanges, don't you have the receipts?? maybe they accidentally credited the money you gave them to someone else's account?? i always save my receipts for that reason. I had gone into the electric company and made a payment ( i saved the receipt which was good) and they sent me a disconnect notice that they were going to disconnect me for non-payment. I had saved the receipt so i went in with the disconnect notice, my receipts and showed them where i paid the money at their office- because i had the receipt, they knew who i have given the money (cash) to and then they figured out this lady was giving receipts and keeping the cash and hoping the people lost the receipt or didn't know how to go about complaining about the problem. my account was credited and the lady who took my money that day was written up or fired because she disappeared from the electric company office shortly after that.

What is a currency exchange? Are you in a different country? Here in the US, we just pay the electric company direct. No muss, no fuss. If you have receipts, show the electric company that you paid.

Did you keep your receipts? If so, just send copies of them to the electric company. It will then be a problem between the payment agent and the electric company.

They should not cut off your heat and electric during the winter but they do not have to start it. Did you get a receipt from the currency exchange? You should have. That is your proof. You should never do money transfers etc. without a receipt. Call the place that did the exchange and question them. Here is a question. If you have no electricity, how are you using a computer and getting internet service?

I don't understand, if you went and paid it at the currency exchange, then you should have a reciept from that currency exchange? the currency excange isn't gonna just keep your money... they wouldnt be in business very long if they did that, thats fraud and its very trackable back to them, then there out of business and making no $$ at all.. Why not open a free checking account then you can have a permanent record of all your bills being paid.. you can even do them online now, mostly for no extra cost.. hope i helped, good luck
