Best apartment security system?

Can you install a security system in an apartment?

  • Need security system in an individual apartment. Don't need one for an apartment complex just an individual apt. If so who and can I do it myself.

    There are several do-it-yourself systems available on the market, If you have some technical know how and the ability to hide wires I guess that would be an ok method as long as you stay away from wireless security systems. OK, they are easy to install but they are also prone to ongoing technical issues and problems. You should definately talk to your landlord first, in fact they might help out in the cost. (not likely but worth a try) I have written several articles on home security both electronic and otherwise. You can do anything you want your self.. Im not sure how much the land lord would like it.. I think theres ones you just plug into a wall outlet , and it has things you stick to doors and windows..

I think this is something I would ask my landlord about first. Some of them may not approve. I can't see why the would not approve, but some landlords are a little funny about things like this. I think they have some pretty simple ones that you can install yourself. If I remember right they had a nice little system at Menard's. I am almost sure it was run by remote control. Good Luck!

See if you can find one that uses wireless sensors - that way you don't need to install cabling.
