Question about apartments the work with your income?

• My friend is one of the many people who is just getting by with what income she has and she wants to find an apartment that works with her income in the area that her daughter goes to school since my friend went from a good paying job to just working for walmart.. I have never done this before so I don't know much on how looking for these kinds of apartments works but I want to help her in any way I can since it's just her and her 13 year old daughter... If any one can help me on this I will more than thankful..

  You are talking about subsidized housing, commonly called housing projects. Your friend needs to qualify through the housing authority. She has to work 35 hours a week and collect child support. About a third of her income (pay and child support) will go to rent, the tax payers pay the rest. Her case worker will tell her where she qualifies to live, it may not be in the area of the school.
