Can you get housing benefit, if you actually own the property?

Hi there, does anyone know whether you can get housing benefit ( or any of the mortgage paid) on the home you live in - when you own it. As you are on a low income?

no u cant its only for people renting on a low income.
You can apply for "Support for Mortgage Interest" if you already receive certain benefits. It is unlikely to cover the full mortgage interest - but it will help.

There is NO WAY that you can get housing benefit on your own house. However if you sign up for social security, the government may pay your mortgage for you if your savings are really low and your low income does not cover it.
You're in the uk, I'm pretty sure your only option is to declare bankruptcy and sell up in afraid :))
