How do I get a license to sell real estate internationally?

Can I sell/assist selling a house without having my Texas real estate license?

  • I am in the middle of going to college to get my certificate in Real Estate, among a degree in English Lit. I would really love to work and help my husband out a little with the bills, but honestly... working a minimum wage job due to lack of work history would be a huge slap in the face considering I have more brains that that. So... my mom mentioned that she heard something about professionals in Texas can sell houses without a license as long as they are brand new properties. Does anyone know if this is true? I do not want to call up some random office and sound like an idiot if I am wrong. I would really appreciate it if someone who is licensed could help answer my questions. And PS. Please do not think I am stuck up when I said I do not want to work for low pay. I just know that I have more potential than most people my age, and I would like to stick on the path of my career. Thanks for your help :)

    Since you are married it is your property too so as a husband and wife you could sell your property together without a license. If you are studying for your RE License you should no you can't represent others in a RE transaction unless you are licensed. P.S. I applaud your attitude and wish you the best.

Hello Indi You can sell homes in a new community, such as the Bridgeland. Many builders prefer to hire people without licenses since realtors must abide by a strict code of ethics and values. You can drive around to any of the new communities and head to the model home area. Ask to speak to any of the builder's representatives who can help get you a job if they are hiring. You can also go to builder's websites, like Coventry.com and see if they are hiring. You can also work in an apartment complex as a leasing agent.
