How can I get a personal loan?

How can I get a personal loan?

  • Is there any way that I can get a personal loan with bad credit? I do own a home, so I can use that as collateral. Is it easier for people with bad credit to get loans who are homeowners? If any of you know of anywhere to go, please lead me in the right direction. I am asking for around a $7,500 loan, so its not like I am asking for an enormous amount. And before anyone criticizes me for my bad credit history, the reason that I have bad credit at the moment is because I became very ill with a pancreas condition in August of 2007, and I was not expected to live. I was put on a breathing machine, and the doctors even told my family to unplug me, and let me go. I am not even supposed to be alive right now, but miracles can happen. So I had some bills go into collections while I was hospitalized all of those months, which is the only reason I am in a bind now. I had excellent credit before I became ill. Anyways, if I can just find someone who will loan me around 7,500, they will likely settle my remaining collections bills for that amount. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know, thanks.

  • Answer:

Unfortunately, it may be very hard to get a loan particularly with our current economic crisis. I possibility would be a home equity loan assuming you have equity but the problem would be how are you going to pay loan. Especially if you are not working. You can try a HUD-approved housing counselor. Good luck.
